Benefits of Dermatix®
“Dermatix® is a Food and Drug Administration registered substantial equivalent to silicone gel sheeting for the prevention and management of hypertrophic scars and keloids.” [1]
“Silicone gel is currently the preferred silicone therapy because silicone gel has fundamental advantages over silicone gel sheeting (SGS)” [2]
Compared with silicone gel sheeting, scars treated with Dermatix® showed:
- Earlier and greater dissipation of erythema [1]
 |
A 90-day prospective study in 30 patients evaluated the efficacy of Dermatix®, silicone gel sheeting and a combination of these treatments in the management of hypertrophic scars, keloid scars and erythematous scars resulting from laser exfoliation. Study patients had bilateral scars. One scar was treated and the opposite scar was used as control. In group 1, Dermatix® was applied twice daily and in group 2, SGS was applied once daily.
|
- Better leveling of the scar [1]
- Less itching, irritation or maceration [1]

Ease of Use
“Patients subjectively ranked Dermatix® far superior to gel sheeting in ease of use and in their willingness to comply with the treatment regimen.” [1]
